Ontario’s Christie moves into tie for fifth on ECHL wins list

With a 4-0 win on Friday at Stockton, Ontario Reign head coach Jason Christie moved into a tie for fifth place with Jeff Brubaker and Malcolm Cameron on the ECHL’s all-time wins list with 317 career wins.

Christie began his ECHL coaching career with Peoria in 2000-01 and was 217-101-42 in five seasons with the Rivermen. He joined Utah in 2005-06 and was 90-102-24 in three seasons with the Grizzlies. In his first season with the Reign, Christie is 10-7-2, and has his club just four points behind Las Vegas for first place in the Pacific Division.

Ahead of Christie on the list is Frank Anzalone, who won 332 games with Nashville, Roanoke, Pee Dee and Johnstown while Jeff Pyle ranks third with 446 wins with Mobile and Gwinnett.

John Brophy, a 2009 inductee into the ECHL Hall of Fame, is second in league history with 480 wins, while John Marks, who last week was announced as a 2012 inductee into the ECHL Hall of Fame, is the league’s all-time leader with 491 wins.
