Ottawa recalls Driedger from IceMen

EVANSVILLE, Ind.- The National Hockey League’s Ottawa Senators have recalled goaltender Chris Driedger from the Evansville IceMen. Drieger will be uniform for Ottawa on Wednesday night when they host the Montreal Canadiens.

The IceMen are the ECHL affiliate of the Senators and the American Hockey League’s Binghamton Senators.

The rookie netminder leads the ECHL in saves with 1,003 and ranks second in the league in minutes played with 933. Driedger has posted a pair of shutouts this season, blanking Greenville 3-0 on Nov. 19 and shutting out Elmira 1-0 on Nov. 29.

A third-round selection(76th overall) of the Senators in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Driedger spent the previous four seasons in the Western Hockey League with Tri-City and Calgary posting a career record of 94-46-14 with eight shutouts, a 2.72 goals-against average and a save percentage of .908
