Parsons Called Up To Portland,
Johansson Assigned To Stingrays

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays announced that left wing Brad Parsons has been recalled to the American Hockey League by the Portland Pirates and that right wing Jonas Johansson has been assigned to the Stingrays. South Carolina is the ECHL affiliate of Portland of the AHL and Washington of the National Hockey League.

Selected in the first round (28th overall) by Colorado in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft and in his first professional season, the 20-year-old Johansson has seven points (3g-4a) in 32 games with Portland. Johansson is scheduled to join the Stingrays in time for their game at Gwinnett on Friday.

The 24-year-old Parsons, who played two games with Portland last weekend, has 16 assists in 28 games with South Carolina.
