PRINCETON, N.J. – The ECHL announced on Friday that it has suspended Peoria right wing Ken Goetz for nine games as a result of his actions in ECHL Game # 732 at Toledo on February 8.
At 13:08 of the second period, Goetz was assessed a major penalty for spearing and a game misconduct under Rule 86(b). As he was being escorted off the ice by the linesman, Goetz removed his helmet and threw it back into the Toledo defending zone. As a result of Goetz’s actions, the helmet left the playing surface and ended up in the seating area. Goetz is suspended nine games under Rule 33A Supplementary Discipline.
Goetz missed Peoria’s game vs. Cincinnati (Feb. 10) and will miss Peoria’s games vs. Idaho (Feb. 13), vs. Idaho (Feb. 14), at Johnstown (Feb. 16), at Johnstown (Feb. 17), vs. Dayton (Feb. 20), vs. Wheeling (Feb. 22), vs. Wheeling (Feb. 24), and at Toledo (Feb. 25).
