PRINCETON, N.J. – Peoria center Tyler Rennette is the InGlasCo ECHL Player of the Week for March 22-28.
The 6-1 and 191-pound Rennette scored 10 points (4g-6a) and was +6 while helping Peoria to go 4-0-0 to improve to 44-18-9 and second place in the Northern Division with 97 points.
Selected in the second round (40th overall) by St. Louis in the 1997 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Rennette scored two goals and assisted on the game-winning goal as Peoria won 4-3 at Cincinnati on March 24. Rennette had three assists, including one on the game winner, in the Rivermen’s 6-0 win against Dayton on March 26 and he scored a goal and had an assist in Peoria’s 8-2 win against Dayton on March 27. He extended his scoring streak to four games and his assist streak to eight games with a goal and an assist in Peoria’s 8-2 win against Toledo on March 28.
Rennette leads Peoria in goals with 30, points with 65 (30g-35a) and plus-minus rating with +33 in 64 games. He has also played two games in the AHL with Grand Rapids.
Rennette tied for the ECHL lead in 2002-03 with seven shorthand goals and ranked third in the league with nine game-winning goals. He led the Rivermen in goals with 42, points with 74 (42g-32a) and plus-minus rating with +30 in 65 regular season games and tied for the team lead with three points (1g-2a) in four Kelly Cup Playoff games. He played in the AHL in 2002-03 scoring two points (0g-2a) in four regular season games with Hamilton and appearing in two playoff games with Bridgeport of the AHL. On behalf of Tyler Rennette, a case of pucks will be donated to a Peoria area youth hockey organization by InGlasCo.
