STOCKTON, Calif. –The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks, announced left winger Jason Pitton has been returned to the Thunder from his loan to the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League on a professional tryout agreement (PTO).
Pitton is second on the Thunder with 11 points (3g-8a) in 11 games and has collected a +7 rating with 34 penalty minutes this year. He skated in one game for Manitoba, collecting two penalty minutes.
Pitton, 24, was selected by the New York Islanders in the eighth round (244th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft and enjoyed a career-high 11 goals and 24 points (11g-13a) in 38 ECHL games last year. He also led the Thunder with seven goals in the Kelly Cup Playoffs and totaled 14 points (7g-7a) in 15 postseason games.
The Brampton, Ontario native has scored 48 career points (19g-29a) in 72 ECHL games with Stockton and Utah. In 162 career games in the AHL with Manitoba, Bridgeport and Springfield, Pitton has registered 13 goals, 30 points (13g-17a) and 152 penalty minutes.
