Portland Assigns Kiser To Stingrays

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays announced that defenseman Nate Kiser has been assigned to the team by Portland of the American Hockey League and that Kiser will be in the lineup on Wednesday. South Carolina is the ECHL affiliate of Portland of the AHL and Washington of the National Hockey League.

Selected in the fifth round (160th overall) by Phoenix in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, the 22-year-old Kiser has 29 penalty minutes in five games with Portland.

In 2003-04, the 6-1 and 207-pound Kiser had 144 penalty minutes and scored 15 points (5g-10a) in 63 games with Dayton of the ECHL and had one assist and 14 penalty minutes in five games with Syracuse of the AHL.
