CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Checkers announced that the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League have reassigned All-Star center Bruce Graham and rookie defenseman Hannu Pikkarainen to Hartford of the American Hockey League. The Checkers also announced that they have traded defenseman John Donnelly to the South Carolina Stingrays in exchange for financial considerations.
Charlotte is the ECHL affiliate of the Rangers of the NHL and the Wolf Pack of the AHL.
Selected in the second round (51st overall) by the New York Rangers in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft and under NHL contract to the Rangers, the 21-year-old Graham is seventh in the ECHL with a team-leading 30 goals and has 45 points in 50 games for Charlotte and has one assist in three games with Hartford.
In his first professional season and under NHL contract to the Rangers, the 23-year-old Pikkarainen has two assists in three games with Charlotte.
