Reading’s Rudkowsky Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Saver of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – Cody Rudkowsky of Reading is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Saver of the Week for November 8-14.

Rudkowsky was 2-0-0 with two shutouts and 50 saves while helping the Royals extend their winning streak to four games and lower their league-leading goals-against average to 1.44. After making 26 saves in a 5-0 win against Wheeling on Friday, the 6-1 and 215-pound Rudkowsky had 14 saves in a 3-0 win against Dayton on Saturday.

In his last three starts, the 26-year-old Rudkowsky has allowed only one goal and has not allowed a goal in the last 171:42. Rudkowsky is 2-4-0 and ranks third in the league with a goals-against average of 1.22 and a save percentage of .952 while his two shutouts tie him for third.

In the 2004 Kelly Cup Playoffs, Rudkowsky was 8-6 with a goals-against average of 2.02 and a save percentage of .937 as Reading advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals before losing in five games to Florida. During the 2003-04 regular season, Rudkowsky was 24-18-4 with a goals-against average of 2.38 and a save percentage of .926, setting a Royals record for wins. The 24 wins were also a career high as was the 46 games played. He also played in the American Hockey League with Worcester, appearing in one regular season game and one playoff game for the IceCats.
