ONTARIO, Calif. – The Ontario Reign announced that they have signed center Dusty Collins, left wing Ryan MacGregor and right wing Brad Mehalko.
The Reign are the ECHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League.
The 23-year old Collins played in the Central Hockey League as a rookie in 2007-08 and had 53 points (23g-30a) and 126 penalty minutes in 63 regular season games and seven points (2g-5a) and 20 penalty minutes in 17 playoff games for Arizona while also playing two games in the AHL for Rockford.
The 26-year-old MacGregor played in the ECHL as a rookie in 2007-08 and had five points (2g-3a) and 39 penalty minutes in 20 regular season games and appeared in two Kelly Cup Playoff games for Dayton while also playing for Reading where he had three points (1g-2a) and nine penalty minutes in 13 games. He began the season in the Southern Professional Hockey League where he had 19 points (9g-10a) and 40 penalty minutes in 20 games for Jacksonville.
The 31-year-old Mehalko played in Germany in 2007-08 and had 13 points (7g-6a) in 17 games for Thuringen.
The first professional sports team in Ontario, Calif., the Reign begin play in the ECHL in 2008-09 and play their first home game on Oct. 25 at the new state-of-the-art Citizens Business Bank Arena, a $130 million multi-purpose facility with 9,736 seats as well as 36 suites, a continuous concourse and a VIP club.
