ONTARIO, Calif. – The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings, announced the re-signing of former Reign / Manchester Monarch center, Dusty Collins to a standard contract for the 2010-11 season.
Collins, 25, played 24 games in a Reign jersey to start the 2008-09 season. He racked up 14 points (6g-8a) and 34 penalty minutes before he was called up to the Manchester Monarchs where he recorded six points (4g-2a) and 15 penalty minutes in 16 contests. He played the final 34 games of 2008-09 and the entire 2009-10 season as a member of the Manitoba Moose. In 104 games with the Moose, Collins scored 12 points (9g-3a) and logged 127 penalty minutes.
The Gilbert, Arizona native played for the U.S. National Under-18 team from 2001-2003 before playing four years of NCAA hockey at Northern Michigan University. The Tampa Bay Lightning selected Collins in the 5th round (163rd overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
