PHOENIX – The Phoenix RoadRunners announced that right wing Cory Pecker has been loaned to the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League, becoming the first RoadRunners player to be called up.
The 24-year-old leads the RoadRunners and is third in the ECHL with 20 points and is tied for fifth with a team-leading nine goals in 14 games. Pecker was runner-up for ECHL CCM Player of the Month award in October after scoring five goals and 11 points in the first five games of the season.
Selected in the sixth round (166th overall) by the Calgary Flames in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, the 24-year-old Pecker played in both the American Hockey League and the ECHL in 2004-05. He had 12 points (4g-8a) in 49 games with Cincinnati and two points (1g-1a) in 12 regular season games and one goal in five playoff games with Manitoba while also scoring one goal in three games with San Diego.
