Robinson named Reebok Hockey Goalie of the Week


PRINCETON, N.J. – Josh Robinson of the Idaho Steelheads is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Oct. 15-22.


The 22-year-old was 2-0-0 with a 1.50 goals-against average and a save percentage of .948 last week, helping the Steelheads to a three-game sweep in Colorado.


Robinson, who is under contract to Texas of the American Hockey League, made his professional debut on Friday, and turned aside 20 shots to record the win in Idaho’s 3-2 victory, and on Saturday, he made 35 saves as the Steelheads completed the sweep with a 6-1 win.


A native of Frankenmuth, Mich., Robinson spent the previous four seasons at Michigan Tech University. As a senior, he won 15 games, which was nine more wins than he had in his first three seasons combined, and were the most wins in a season for a Michigan Tech goaltender since 1992-93.


Runners Up: Joel Martin, Kalamazoo (1-0-0, 0.00 GAA, 1.000 save pct.) and Jean-Francois Berube, Ontario (2-0-0, 2.00 GAA, .917 save pct.).
