Rockford assigns four to Walleye

Toledo, Ohio – The Toledo Walleye and Head Coach Nick Vitucci announced today that forwards David Gilbert and Paul Zanette, defenseman Simon Danis-Pepin and goaltender Carter Hutton have been assigned to Toledo from the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL.


All four of the new players bring AHL experience to the Walleye. Danis-Pepin has appeared in 61 AHL games and 46 more contests with the Walleye over the past two seasons. He has 22 points (4g-18a) in two seasons with Toledo.


Hutton started 22 games last year with the Worcester Sharks (AHL) and four games with Adirondack (AHL) the year before. Last season, Hutton posted a record of 11-7-2 with a 3.01 goals against average and a .902 save percentage.


Gilbert, a seventh round pick of Chicago in 2009, has appeared in six games with Rockford the last two years with four points (2g-2a) while Zanette played in seven games last year with Hamilton and 11 more in the playoffs. Zanette was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award his senior season at Niagara when he finished with 29 goals and 26 assists.
