Roussel joins Grizzlies’ blue line

West Valley City, Utah – Utah Grizzlies Head Coach/General Manager Tim Branham announced that the team has signed defenseman Charles-Olivier Roussel for the 2014-15 season.

The Grizzlies are the ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League and the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League.

Roussel played 66 games in 2013-14 with the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals, totaling 17 points (4g-13a). He split his rookie season in 2012-13 between Cincinnati of the ECHL and Milwaukee. He had 17 points (6g-11a) in 40 games with the Cyclones and one assist in 17 games with the Admirals.

A second-round selection (42nd overall) by the Nashville Predators in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Roussel played five seasons in the QMJHL from 2007-12 with Shawinigan, Montreal and Saint John, recording 181 points (47g-134a) in 299 career games.
