PRINCETON, N.J. – Reading rookie goaltender Barry Brust is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Saver of the Week for March 28-April 3. The 21-year-old Brust, who won the award for the week of March 14-20, becomes the fifth netminder to win the award twice this season, joining Mike Minard of Columbia, Dany Sabourin of Wheeling, Nick Boucher of Pee Dee and Alfie Michaud of Peoria.
Brust helped Reading become the first team in the North Division to clinch a berth in the Kelly Cup Playoffs, going 3-0-0 with a 1.66 goals against and a .945 save percentage while posting wins over division rivals Dayton, Atlantic City and Peoria.
Under contract to Manchester of the American Hockey League, the 6-2 and 210-pound Brust stopped 29 shots in a 6-3 win at Dayton on Friday and followed with 25 saves in a 5-1 win against Atlantic City on Saturday. The rookie ended his week with a 32-save effort in a 2-1 win against Peoria on Sunday.
