Royals’ Fukufuji Recalled To Manchester,
Morlang Loaned To Lowell

READING, Pa. – The Reading Royals announced that goaltender Yutaka Fukufuji has been recalled to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League and that right wing John Morlang has been loaned to the Lowell Lock Monsters of the AHL.

The Royals are the ECHL affiliate of Manchester of the AHL and the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League.

Selected in the eighth round (238th overall) by Los Angeles in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, the 23-year-old Fukufuji is 2-1-1 with a goals-against average of 3.20 and a save percentage of .907 in four games with Reading. Fukufuji, who in February 2003 with Cincinnati became the first Japanese-born goaltender to start an ECHL game, and the Kings agreed to terms on a two-year entry level contract in August.

The 24-year-old Morlang, who played in Lowell’s 5-1 loss at Bridgeport on Sunday, has five points (3g-2a) and 11 penalty minutes in nine games with the Royals.
