PRINCETON, N.J. – The ECHL on Thursday announced that Reading center Mike Kompon and Gwinnett center Jeff Campbell have been added to the American Conference roster.
Kompon replaces Wheeling rookie center Kurtis McLean, who is playing in the American Hockey League with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, while Campbell replaces Gwinnett teammate Pascal Pelletier, who is playing in the AHL with Providence. Wheeling rookie forward Sean Collins has been selected to replace McLean as a starter for the American Conference.
In his second professional season, the 23-year-old Kompon has an ECHL season-high 18-game scoring streak (3g-24a) during which he has eight multiple-assist and eight multiple-point games. The 5-foot-11 and 190-pound Kompon leads the ECHL with 33 assists, is tied for second in power-play assists with 17, third in power-play points with 23 and tied for seventh in scoring with 42 points in 31 games. He has also played two games in the AHL with Manchester where he has one assist and four penalty minutes.
It is the second consecutive All-Star appearance for the 24-year-old Campbell, who represented the Gladiators as a rookie in 2005. Campbell leads Gwinnett and is second in the ECHL with 44 points in 36 games and he leads the Gladiators in plus-minus rating with +18 and is second on the team with 17 goals and 27 assists.
The 22-year-old Collins leads ECHL rookies and is tied for second overall with 31 assists while his 46 points tie him for the rookie lead and for second overall with McLean.
