Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that forward Eric Castonguay has been loaned by the Royals to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL.
This is the second trip to Bridgeport this season for Castonguay, a fourth year pro from Granby, Quebec. He scored a goal in the Sound Tigers’ 3-0 win over the Norfolk Admirals on Nov. 28 in his lone game with the team. In 41 games with the Royals this season, Castonguay has 29 points (9g-20a). Last night, he scored a tie-breaking short-handed game winner for the Royals in the team’s 4-2 win over the Wheeling Nailers. Castonguay has played 54 AHL games in his career.
