READING, Pa. – The Reading Royals announced that goaltender Ryan Munce has been assigned to the team from the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League.
The Royals are the ECHL affiliate of the Monarchs of the AHL and the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League.
Selected in the third round (82nd overall) by Los Angeles in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, the 21-year-old was 30-18-5 with a goals-against average of 2.78 and a save percentage of .919 in 55 games as a rookie with Bakersfield in 2005-06. He led the ECHL with eight shootout wins, 1,705 saves and 3,234 minutes while finishing fifth in wins and 12th in goals-against average. He made 63 saves on in a 2-1 shootout win at Long Beach on Jan. 6, tying the record for fourth-most saves in an ECHL regular season game.
