READING, Pa. – The Reading Royals announced that they have signed centers Rich Peverley (pictured) and Grant Jacobsen.
In his rookie season with South Carolina in 2004-05, the 23-year-old Peverley had 58 points (30g-28a) while leading the team with 10 power-play goals and ranking second with 21 power-play points. He had four points (2g-2a) in four Kelly Cup Playoff games and also played one game in the American Hockey League with Portland.
Selected in the ninth round (270th overall) by St. Louis in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, the 22-year-old Jacobsen had 29 points (14g-15a) in 31 games with the University of Manitoba in 2004-05. He played six seasons in the Western Hockey League with Regina and Kamloops scoring 213 points (77g-136a) in 314 career regular season games and seven points (1g-6a) in 30 career playoff games.
