Scott Named General Manager
Of AHL’s Oklahoma City Barons

Edmonton Oilers General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have appointed Bill Scott as General Manager of their AHL affiliate, the Oklahoma City Barons.

The Stockton Thunder are the ECHL affiliate of Edmonton and Oklahoma City.

Scott, who was recently the Director of Hockey Operations for the American Hockey League, will oversee the entire Barons’ hockey operations department.

Scott spent four seasons with the AHL after three seasons in the hockey operations department for the ECHL.

During his tenure with the ECHL, Scott was responsible for the organization and release of team rosters including the daily monitoring of contracts, salary cap and player background information. He oversaw all transactions including trades, waivers, recalls and injuries. Scott, who assisted with league and player immigration matters, was also responsible for the administration and tracking of player fines while overseeing the hockey operations printed materials including the ECHL Official Rule Book as well as assisting in the creation of the playing schedule.

A native of Unionville, Ontario, Scott joined the ECHL after interning in the hockey operations department for the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League. He worked four seasons as a student manager with the Michigan State University hockey team and graduated from Eli Broad College of Business in May 2003.
