Scrivens Reassigned To Royals; Machesney Loaned To Worcester

Reading, PA –The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Ben Scrivens has been assigned by the Maple Leafs from the Marlies to the Royals. In a separate transaction, the Royals loaned goaltender Daren Machesney to the Worcester Sharks of the AHL.


For Scrivens, a first year pro from Spruce Grove, Alberta, this marks his fourth stint with the Royals this season. In eleven games with Reading, Scrivens has compiled a 8-3-0-0 record with a 2.18 goals against average and a .936 save percentage. In thirteen games with the Marlies this year, Scrivens has gone 5-2-3 with a 2.25 gaa, .927 save percentage and one shutout.


Machesney, a fifth year pro from Lambeth, Ontario, was signed by Reading on Jan. 30 and has yet to appear in a game for the Royals.
