Senators Sign Former Inferno Defenseman Amadio

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League in conjunction with the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League announced that they have signed defenseman Greg Amadio, who played for the Columbia Inferno in each of his first two professional seasons.

In his second professional season in 2004-05, the 26 year old was selected to the ECHL All-Star Game and had four points (1g-3a) in 32 regular season games and one goal in one Kelly Cup Playoff game for the Columbia Inferno. He also played in the AHL in 2005-06 and had two assists and 96 penalty minutes in 35 games with Grand Rapids and four penalty minutes in one game with Manitoba.

In his rookie season in 2003-04 with Columbia, Amadio had career bests with four goals, 10 assists, 14 points, 213 penalty minutes and 67 games and had 12 penalty minutes in four Kelly Cup Playoff games.

The 6-foot-2 and 225-pound defenseman played in the AHL in 2006-07 and had 16 penalty minutes in 14 games with Iowa and eight points (3g-5a) and 110 penalty minutes in 44 games with Portland.
