FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Falcons announced that rookie left wing Glenn Olson has been assigned to the team by San Jose of the National Hockey League. Fresno is the ECHL affiliate of San Jose of the NHL and Cleveland of the American Hockey League.
Olson is expected to be in uniform for Fresno when it plays at Victoria on Tuesday.
In his first professional season and under contract to San Jose, the 6-4 and 220-pound Olson, who has been battling injuries, had five penalty minutes in two games with Cleveland and nine penalty minutes in four games with Johnstown of the ECHL.
In 2003-04 with Kootenay of the Western Hockey League, the 20-year-old Olson had 126 penalty minutes and three points (2g-1a) in 41 regular season games and eight penalty minutes in four playoff games.
