Sisca returns to Solar Bears

Orlando, Fla. – The
Orlando Solar Bears, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL’s Iowa Wild and Toronto Marlies, announced that they have agreed to terms with forward Mathew Sisca for the 2013-14 season.

Sicsa returns to Orlando after leading the team in assists (33) and points (48) in 59 games last season. He scored the first goal on home ice on Oct. 20, 2012, when the Solar Bears defeated the Florida Everblades 4-3 in 12-round shootout.

The Woodbridge, Ontario native was named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team in 2011-12, when in 77 games split between the Bakersfield Condors and Cincinnati Cyclones, he tallied 66 points (23g-43a) to rank second among first-year players.

Sisca played four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League from 2007-11 with the Niagara IceDogs, Guelph Storm and Saginaw Spirit, picking up 172 points (71g-101a) in 241 games. He was second on his team in goals (35) and fourth in points (65) as a member of the Guelph Storm in 2009-10.
