Sorkin has played two full seasons of professional hockey in North America, in addition to one season in Sweden, and will be entering his second campaign as a member of the Nailers. In 2016-17, he was one of Wheeling’s top offensive performers, as he finished third on the club with 57 points while ranking second with 43 assists. Sorkin also earned the opportunity to play in eight AHL games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and San Diego Gulls. The 26-year-old has appeared in 142 professional games in North America, totaling 83 points (26g-57a).
Prior to turning pro, the Rockville, Md. native attended the University of New Hampshire, where he majored in Finance, while playing four years of college hockey for the Wildcats. Over the course of his time at UNH, Sorkin amassed 98 points (34g-64a) in 142 games, which included a standout senior season, as he led the Wildcats with 20 goals, while finishing second on the squad with 41 points. Sorkin also played one season of junior hockey in the United States Hockey League, suiting up with the Waterloo Black Hawks and Sioux City Musketeers.
