Stingrays Beat Alaska 4-2

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – Before the playoffs started, South Carolina Stingrays coach Jared Bednar sat down with goalies Jonathan Boutin and James Reimer and told them they would play until they lost.

Bednar has been true to his word throughout the playoffs.

James Reimer, who had not played in more than three weeks, stopped 22 shots and Johann Kroll scored a goal and added two assists to lead South Carolina past Alaska, 4-2, on Wednesday night in Game 3 of the ECHL Kelly Cup finals before a crowd of 3,869 at the North Charleston Coliseum.

With the victory, the Stingrays grabbed a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series heading into Game 4 on Friday night at home.
