South Carolina Signs Rookie Hecimovic

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays announced that they have signed rookie right wing John Hecimovic. Hecimovic is the first player signed by the team for 2005-06.

Selected in the ninth round (264th overall) by Florida in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-2 and 215-pound Hecimovic played in the Ontario Hockey League in 2004-05, scoring 11 points (7g-4a) in 12 games with Sarnia and 33 points (19g-14a) in 39 games with Mississauga in 2004-05.

Hecimovic was a teammate of South Carolina’s Joe Tenute, who was the ECHL Rookie of the Year in 2004-05, and Aaron Power.
