Springfield Signs Dayton’s Farynyk

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League announced that they have signed defenseman Brad Farynuk, who played for the American Conference champion Dayton Bombers as a rookie in 2006-07.

The Stockton Thunder are the ECHL affiliate of the Falcons of the AHL and the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League.

The 25 year old led Dayton defensemen in the postseason with four goals, 12 assists and 16 points in 22 games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs after finishing third among blueliners in the regular season with 23 points (4g-19a) in 47 games. He also played in the AHL where he had one assist and eight penalty minutes in 16 games for Syracuse.

Farynuk played four seasons at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he had 79 points (18g-61a) and 144 penalty minutes in 146 games from 2002-06.
