ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League announced that they have signed left wing Jean-Guy Trudel, who played in the ECHL his first two seasons.
In his rookie season in 1996-97, Trudel had 54 points (25g-29a) and 47 penalty minutes in 37 regular season games and 19 points (9g-10a) and 22 penalty minutes in nine games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs for Peoria.
He was named First Team All-ECHL in 1997-98 after finishing second in the league with 113 points (39g-74a) and 147 penalty minutes in 62 regular season games and two penalty minutes in three games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs for the Rivermen. He also played in the 1998 ECHL All-Star Game and had an assist for Canada in an 11-7 win.
The Alaska Aces are the ECHL affiliate of the Blues of the NHL and Peoria of the American Hockey League.
