Steelheads add AHL experience with Nigro

Boise, Idaho – Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced that the
Idaho Steelheads have agreed to terms with forward Anthony Nigro.

The Steelheads are the ECHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League and the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League.

Nigro has played in 194 professional games – 175 of them in the American Hockey League. He netted 27 goals in those 175 AHL games, all with the Peoria Rivermen, and added 25 assists. Nigro was selected in the sixth round (155th overall) by the St. Louis Blues in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. The 23-year-old appeared in 19 games last season with the Evansville IceMen, recording eight points (3g-5a).
