Steelheads add gritty forward Carroll

Boise, Idaho – Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced that the Idaho Steelheads have agreed to terms with forward Andrew Carroll.

The Steelheads are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Dallas Stars and the American Hockey League’s Texas Stars.

The 30-year-old appeared in 36 regular-season games with Idaho during the 2012-13 season, notching 31 points (12g-19a). He also appeared in 15 playoff games that season, adding eight points (3g-5a) along the way. He came up big in Game 6 of Idaho’s first-round playoff series that season, scoring the game-tying goal with less than two minutes left in regulation and the game-winning goal less than two minutes into overtime to clinch the series and advance the team to the Western Conference Semifinals.

Carroll has appeared in 188 ECHL games in his career along with 148 in the American Hockey League. He has also appeared in over 60 postseason games as a pro, dating back to the 2008-09 season.
