Steelheads, Gron agree to terms

Boise, Idaho – Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Wednesday that the
Idaho Steelheads have agreed to terms with forward Tyler Gron.

The Steelheads are the ECHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League and the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League.

Gron, 23, joined the Steelheads midway through last season after being starting the season in the Central Hockey League. The Spruce Grove, Alberta, native made an immediate impact, scoring two goals in his Idaho debut on Jan. 18 against Alaska.

He went on to net 21 goals in 34 games with the Steelheads – the second-most in the ECHL in that time frame behind Mathieu Roy of the Florida Everblades (25) – and led the team with eight more tallies during the playoffs. Two of his goals were game-winning overtime markers.
