Steelheads re-sign defenseman Dodero

Boise, Idaho – Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced that the Idaho Steelheads have agreed to terms with second-year defenseman Charlie Dodero.

The Steelheads are the ECHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League and the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League.

The 21-year-old Dodero was assigned to Idaho by Hartford of the American Hockey League just after Christmas last season. He appeared in 44 regular-season games with the Steelheads, picking up 19 points (4g-15a). His four goals were tied for second-most among Idaho’s defensemen, and the Illinois native was voted by Steelheads fans as the team’s biggest hitter during the season. He skated in all 11 of the Steelheads’ games during the Kelly Cup Playoffs, posting five points (1g-4a).

Prior to turning pro, Dodero played four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League recording 69 points (11g-58a) in 248 games with Kitchener and Sudbury.
