Boise, ID – Idaho Steelheads hockey fans have an opportunity to help Treasure Valley children on Friday night at the team’s annual “Teddy Bear Toss” at Qwest Arena against the Victoria Salmon Kings.
Fans are encouraged to bring a new, plush, unbreakable toy to the game and throw it on the ice when Idaho scores its first goal of the game. Fans that don’t bring a stuffed animal to the game will have an opportunity to buy one at Qwest Arena. The Steelheads Booster Club will be selling toys at the game, including “Blimpie Bears,” for $2, $5, or $10, depending on the size. All toys thrown onto the ice will be collected by the US Marines as part of their annual Toys-for-Tots campaign.
The game will also feature a performance by the Fresno State marching band on the eve of the UDrove Humanitarian Bowl between Fresno State and Northern Illinois.
