Connelly, 23, returns to the Stingrays after appearing in two games with the Jackals going 2-0-0 with a 1.50 goals-against average and a .957 save percentage. Last season, the Cheltenham, PA native appeared in 26 games with the Stingrays earning a 13-7-5 record, 2.82 GAA and .901 save percentage. While with the Stingrays, Connelly tied an ECHL record with three–straight shutouts from February 19-21 and was named the ECHL Goaltender of the Week for February 15-21.
Prior to turning pro, the 5-foot-9, 177-pound goaltender spent four years at the University of Wisconsin going 41-36-11 in 90 games with a 2.34 goals-against average and .913 save percentage. During his first two seasons with the Badgers, Connelly backed up Hobey Baker finalist and current Ottawa Senators goaltender Brian Elliot and was a member of the 2006 NCAA championship team.
