North Charleston, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays, proud ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins, announced today that the team has signed forward Patrick Cullen and agreed to terms with forward Dylan Clarke.
Cullen, 23, skated in eight games with the Stingrays last season scoring two goals and two assists for four points after completing his senior year at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In four seasons at R.P.I., the Washington, D.C., native recorded 62 points (24g-38a) in 136 contests and was named to the ECAC Hockey All-Rookie Team, ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team and received the team’s Outstanding Freshman Award. Before joining the NCAA ranks, Cullen spent the 2007-08 season with the Indiana Ice of the United States Hockey League netting eight goals and 18 assists for 26 points in 58 games.
Clarke, 25, finished the 2011-12 season tied for first in team scoring with the Central Hockey League’s Tulsa Oilers with 29 goals and 35 assists for 64 points in 66 games. The Belleville, Ontario, native netted 17 multi-point games including two hat tricks during his rookie season and was named the CHL Player of the Week on March 26 after scoring six goals and four assists in the last five games of the regular season. Prior to turning pro, Clarke dressed for four seasons with SUNY-Plattsburgh where he captained the Cardinals during his senior season and buried 139 points (67g-72a) in 114 contests.
