Stingrays add scoring punch with veteran Painchaud

North Charleston, S.C. – The
South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today that the team has agreed to terms with forward Chad Painchaud.

The Stingrays are the ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League.

Entering his eighth professional season, Painchaud, 27, has 285 points (120g-165a) in 306 ECHL games with Gwinnett, Bakersfield, Victoria, Reading and Chicago. Last season, the Mississauga, Ontario native helped guide the Wichita Thunder to the Central Hockey League Ray Miron Presidents’ Cup Finals with 56 points (20g-36a) in 46 regular-season contests and 13 points (4g-9a) in 15 playoff games before falling to Allen in Game 7.

Selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Painchaud has 40 games of experience in the American Hockey League with Chicago, Iowa and Manitoba picking up nine points (4g-5a).
