Stingrays add scoring threat with Andrew Rowe

North Charleston, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays have signed forward Andrew Rowe for the 2014-15 season, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced.

The Stingrays are the ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears and Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League.

Rowe, 26, finished second in the ECHL in goals (31) and fifth in points (66), while finishing tied for fourth in plus-minus (+28) in 64 games with the Greenville Road Warriors last season, earning an All-ECHL Second Team selection. Under contract to the American Hockey League’s Hartford Wolf Pack in 2013-14, the Muskegon, Mich. native added three points (2g-1a) in seven AHL contests.

During the 2012-13 campaign, Rowe ranked seventh in the ECHL with 72 points (29g-43a) in 66 games with the Elmira Jackals and earned a five-game promotion to the Norfolk Admirals, adding one assist. In 142 career ECHL games, all with Greenville and Elmira, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound forward amassed 65 goals and 80 assists for 145 points. At the AHL level, Rowe has racked up 27 points (17g-10a) in 101 games with the Admirals, Wolf Pack and Adirondack Phantoms.
