Stingrays add toughness with return of Collins

North Charleston, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays have agreed to terms with forward Anthony Collins, head coach and director of hockey operations Spencer Carbery announced today.

The Stingrays are the ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears and Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League.

Collins, 24, appeared in 32 games with the Stingrays last season adding four assists and 109 penalty minutes. Before joining the Stingrays, Collins skated his rookie campaign with the Mississippi Surge of the Southern Professional Hockey League in 2012-13 picking up six points (2g-4a) and 130 penalty minutes.

A native of Surrey, British Columbia, Collins played four seasons of junior hockey in the BCHL and MJHL notching 58 points (23g-35a) in 129 games.
