Stingrays Have 17 Players
And Two Staff Members
At Capitals’ Camps

North Charleston, SC – The South Carolina Stingrays announced that 17 players will be attending the rookie camp or training camp of the National Hockey League’s Washington Capitals.

The Stingrays are the ECHL affiliate of the Capitals and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.

The head coach of the Capitals is Bruce Boudreau. Boudreau, who coached Mississippi for three seasons winning the Kelly Cup championship in 1999, was named NHL Coach of the Year in 2007-08 becoming the first former ECHL coach to receive the award. Former ECHL player and coach Bob Woods, who led Hershey to the AHL championship in 2009, is an assistant coach for Washington while Arturs Irbe, who played in the ECHL in 2003-04, is the goaltending coach for the Capitals. The head coach of Hershey is former ECHL assistant coach Mark French and the assistant coach of the Bears is former ECHL player and coach Troy Mann.

Forwards Trevor Bruess (2009-10), David de Kastrozza (09-10), Jake Hauswirth (09-10), Nikita Kashirsky (2008-10) and defensemen Joe Finley (2009-10), Josh Godfrey (2008-10), Johann Kroll (2008-10) and Dylan Yeo (2009-10) highlight the rookie camp roster.

Forwards Steve Pinizzotto (2007-09), Andrew Gordon (2007-08) defensemen Sean Collins (2007-08), Grant McNeill (2007-08), Patrick McNeill (2007-08) Patrick Wellar (2008-10) and goaltenders Todd Ford (2009-10), Braden Holtby (2009-10) and Michal Neuvirth (2008-09) appear on the training camp roster.

Stingrays Equipment Manager John Williams and Athletic Trainer D.J. Church will join the Washington Capitals staff for both camps.
