NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays announced that the annual Live 5 Teddy Bear Toss for Debbie’s Kids will be held on Saturday when they host the Pensacola Ice Pilots at the North Charleston Coliseum.
The Stingrays are the ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Calder Cup champion Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.
Fans are encouraged to bring a new teddy bear or other stuffed animal to throw onto the ice after the Stingrays score their first goal of the game.
The stuffed animals will be collected and donated to Debbie’s Kids in conjunction with The Salvation Army.
It is the eighth year that the Stingrays have held the Teddy Bear Toss with over 2,500 stuffed animals collected a year ago.
