North Charleston, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced that forward Marc Hagel has been loaned to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League.
Hagel, 25, is tied for fifth among ECHL rookies with 17 points (9g-8a) in 21 games and while ranking first among first-year players in game-winning goals (3), second in power-play goals (4) and third in goals. He was named ECHL Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 10 after posting five points (3g-2a) in three games.
Last season, the Hamilton, Ontario native skated six games with the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League notching two assists after completing his college season at Miami University where he had 19 points (6g-13a) in 42 games.
Hagel transferred to the RedHawks after graduating from Princeton University, but dressed only three seasons, taking a medical redshirt his junior year and leaving him one year of eligibility. With the Tigers, the Hagel totaled 34 points (17g-17a) in 92 contests.
