Stingrays Name Dexter To Hall of Fame

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays announced that Brad Dexter will be inducted into the Stingrays Hall of Fame on Friday.

Dexter finished ahead of Adam Calder, Marty Clapton, Jody Lehman and Jeff Romfo in voting conducted in association with the The Post and Courier.

In his rookie season in 1996-97, Dexter joined the Stingrays for the final 16 regular season games and was part of the run to the Kelly Cup Championship. He won a second Kelly Cup with South Carolina in 2001 and is the highest-scoring defenseman in team history with 234 points (44g-190a) in 291 regular season games and 53 points (10g-43a) in 54 postseason games.

The Stingrays are the ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.
