Stingrays Opener Includes Cremins, Hughes

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays announced that the team’s season opener on Saturday will have College of Charleston basketball coach Bobby Cremins dropping the ceremonial first puck and Super Fan Cameron Hughes (pictured) and the ZOOperstars performing.

The Stingrays are the ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.

Cremins was named head coach of the College of Charleston during the summer after a six-year absence from coaching. He coached Georgia Tech for 19 years and is the all-time winningest coach in school history, having led the team to 14 winning seasons and 14 postseason berths.
