PRINCETON, N.J. – South Carolina forward Rich Peverley is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for January 10-16.
The 6-0 and 190-pound rookie scored five goals and added two assists while helping the Stingrays go 3-0-0 for the week and extend their winning streak to five games. After scoring two goals and assisting on the game-winning goal in a 5-2 win against Columbia on January 11, the 22-year-old Peverley had his third two-goal game and his sixth multiple-point game with three points (2g-1a) in a 4-3 win at Gwinnett on January 14. He ended the week scoring the game-winning goal in a 2-0 win at Augusta on January 15.
Under contract to Portland of the American Hockey League, Peverley has nine points (6g-3a) and a plus-minus rating of +3 during South Carolina’s current five-game winning streak. He is tied for 18th among ECHL rookies with 25 points (13g-12a) and ranks third on the Stingrays in scoring and power-play points (9).
