NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays announced that they have signed defenseman Likit Andersson and that defenseman Deryk Engelland has been returned to the team from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.
The Stingrays are the ECHL affiliate of the Bears of the AHL and the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League.
Andersson and Engelland are both expected to be in the lineup when South Carolina hosts Augusta on Friday.
Acquired on Jan. 4 from Stockton in exchange for financial considerations, the 6-foot-2 and 190-pound Andersson has eight points (2g-6a) in 16 games with the Thunder after beginning the season with Trenton where he had one assist and six penalty minutes in four games.
The 23-year-old Engelland has 15 points (3g-12a) and 20 penalty minutes in 32 games with South Carolina and 27 penalty minutes in six games with Hershey.
