Stingrays Sign Szabo

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays announced that they have signed center Peter Szabo.

The Stingrays are the ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Calder Cup champion Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.

The 25-year-old played in the United Hockey League in 2005-06, leading league rookies with 55 assists and finishing fourth with 78 points in 72 regular season games while also playing in four playoff games for Motor City.

The 5-foot-9 and 175-pound native of Nitra, Slovakia played four seasons at St. Cloud State where he had 93 points (23g-70a) and 113 penalty minutes in 153 games from 2001-05.
