Stingrays sign veteran defenseman Scott Ford

North Charleston, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays agreed to terms with defenseman Scott Ford, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced.

The Stingrays are the ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears and Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League.

Ford, 34, joins the Stingrays with 510 games of AHL experience. He has tallied 63 points (18g-45a) over a 10-year professional career with the Milwaukee Admirals, Peoria Rivermen, Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Providence Bruins and Cleveland Barons. The last three seasons, the Fort Saint John, British Columbia, native served as team captain with the Admirals and Rivermen.

Ford also has 132 career games and 45 points (12g-33a) in the ECHL skating with the Utah Grizzlies, Trenton Titans, Dayton Bombers and Fresno Falcons.
